Privacy Policy

What PortWin and this website collect, and what they don’t.

The short version

PortWin has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. The only data that leaves your Mac is what is needed to check your license, and the downloads you start yourself.

Who we are

PortWin is made by Kuka Lab (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at kukalab@icloud.com.

What the app sends

• License checks. When you activate, check or deactivate a license key, PortWin sends the key, an installation ID and the name of your Mac (as set in System Settings → General → Sharing) to Lemon Squeezy, our payment and licensing provider. The Mac name lets you recognize your activations; you can rename your Mac before activating if you prefer. The trial start date and your license are stored only in the macOS Keychain on your Mac.
• Downloads you start. Recipes and Windows components download installers directly from their publishers (for example Valve, Epic Games, GOG, Blizzard and Microsoft) or from the open-source Winetricks project. Those servers see your IP address, as with any download, under their own privacy policies.
• Nothing else. PortWin does not collect usage statistics, crash reports, the list of your programs or games, or the contents of your files. Logs and bottles stay on your Mac in ~/Library/Application Support/PortWin.

Purchases

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy receives your email address, billing details and payment information under its privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details so that we can deliver and support your license. We never see your full card number.

This website

portwin.kuka-lab.com is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which processes standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. The download button links to GitHub, which applies its own privacy statement.

Your choices and rights

You can deactivate your license from PortWin Settings → License at any time, which removes the activation record for that Mac. To request access to or deletion of the order data we hold, contact us at kukalab@icloud.com. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.

Children

PortWin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date below and describe significant changes in the release notes.
